AWESOME FRIDAY!!

Today has been a wonderful day. First off I finally made my first sale on Etsy :-)! Secondly my buddy Dana @ Lily Bean Designs left me an award at her blogspot. So overall, this has been by far the best day since I started my Etsy store! Thanks Dana for all your help and motivation!

A New Me

Hi My name is Sandy. In late 2004 I was diagnosed with a Stage 3 inflammatory and infiltrating breast cancer of the right breast. I underwent a mastectomy and removal of 10 lymph nodes. Nine of the ten were positive for cancer. I followed with a course of chemo and radiation. My breast cancer was estrogen positive so I also had both ovaries removed. In 2008 I was diagnosed with mucoepidermoid cancer of the right lung. It was a 1.2 cm node in the upper right lobe. This was surgically removed . No further treatment was necessary. It was felt that this tumor was not a metastatic one but a small primary. Shortly after that a small spot was found on my left breast which was an insitu tumor. I then had the left breast removed. Again no further treatment was required. I have done reconstruction on both breasts. Now I fell like a new woman -LOL!!!!!I am writing this to inform all of you out there be it mothers, sister, daughters, granddaughters etc that there is always hope. You need to be positive and strong and above all have faith. I have endured a great deal of pain and suffering with the loss of both breasts, my hair, having only one breast for three years, plus all the side effects of the chemo and radiation. I am here to say that even though you go through all this there is always hope. Today I am happy, healthy and have a wonderful family. I go to the gym regularly and am re-educating myself on eating healthy. I am a SURVIVOR!!!! As a result of this I am now making jewelry. A portion of my proceeds goes to the Brentwood Bayshore Breast Cancer Coalition. My web site is: www.sanseas2000.etsy.com.( for the jewelry)
Have a great day! I wish anyone out there going through cancer treatments I am always available for support. Feel free to contact me on my blog.
